Our Story

Named for the palace that raised it

Lubiri Secondary School began life inside Nabagereka Primary School, on the grounds of the Kabaka's Palace in Mengo. It was never meant as a promotion of the primary school next door. It was its own institution from day one, and it took its name from the ground it stood on: lubiri, the Luganda word for palace.

That founding purpose still shapes the school today: high-quality education built on innovation, teamwork and self-discipline, aiming to be a world-class centre of academic, spiritual and moral excellence.

1956

Founded in Mengo

Started at Nabagereka Primary School, inside the Kabaka's Palace, as a separate secondary school with a two-fold founding purpose.

Since

Built on UNEB results

Maintained as an academic powerhouse across O-Level and A-Level, with staff recognised for consistent, commendable results.

Guided by our vision to nurture all-round achievers, we are committed to developing learners academically, morally, spiritually, and socially, through the dedication of our teachers, the support of parents, and the determination of our students.

While we remain proud of our rich traditions, we continue to embrace innovation to prepare our learners for the demands of the future. I invite you to explore, engage, and partner with us throughout the year.
